The 40-year-old interpreter was bust on Friday, 16 April at Mkhuhlu Magistrates Court outside Hazyview in Mpumalanga as he posed for journalists to take photos of him. Hawks spokeswoman Captain Dineo Sekgotodi told Daily Sun that the interpreter allegedly demanded money from a man facing charges of assault and violating a protection order. “On different days the interpreter demanded money from the suspect saying he would withdraw the cases against him. He went again to him and demanded more money for bail. And later he demanded another amount of money saying it was for trial court. The interpreter ended up saying his car doesn’t have petrol, and demanded more money. He went back again to demand more money, claiming he could manipulate the case dockets. RESIDENTS, especially in the eastern parts of Limpopo, Mpumalanga and KZN, are warned of tropical cyclone Eloise approaching South Africa. South African Weather Service forecaster Surprise Mhlongo told the SunTeam Eloise has left Madagascar already and could hit Mzansi on Sunday 24 January. He said it’s expected to be in Mozambique on Friday 22 January. The weather service said widespread flooding, damage to roads and bridges, as well as displacement of communities in low-lying areas are possible. “This is a similar weather system to the one that brought a lot of damages over the eastern parts of Limpopo in the year 2000.
