Dimapur, Oct. 20 (EMN): Naga Tribal Union Chumoukedima Town (NTUCT) on Thursday said the recent outcome of the 11 writ petitions in Gauhati High Court, Kohima bench is expected to open many doors to those seeking public employment, amid rapid rise of unemployment among the educated youths of Nagaland and backdoor appointments in departments and governmental agencies. It may be mentioned that the Gauhati High Court, Kohima bench, had granted an interim order to a group of 26 educated unemployed youths who had filed 11 writ petitions to quash a total of 940 backdoor appointments in the Police department from January 2018 to October 2020. The petitioners had approached the High Court to not only demand cancellation of all the appointments but to advertise the posts and give opportunity to the petitioners, respondents and all eligible candidates. Our Correspondent/ Reporter Tuensang/ Dimapur, Oct. 7 (EMN): The public walkathon called by the Eastern Nagaland Students’ Federation (ENSF) in all the administrative and district headquarters in eastern Nagaland ended peacefully on Friday with thousands of people in traditional attire hitting the streets at the designated locations in the region, holding placards and chanting slogans to mark the first phase of agitation for Frontier Nagaland statehood. In Tuensang, hundreds of people from various parts of the district converged at the parade ground to participate in the walkathon organised by the ENSF and initiated by Chang Wetoshi Setshang.
