Phoenix Netts death
A woman will be sentenced for murdering Phoenix Netts and concealing her dismembered body in two suitcases.
Gareeca Conita Gordon, 28, previously admitted killing Miss Netts at the shared accommodation where they lived in Birmingham on April 16 last year.
After the murder, she carried out a series of “detailed, organised actions” to suggest that Miss Netts was alive while taking steps to dispose of her body, prosecutors said.
The Crown Prosecution Service told how Gordon contacted friends and family of Miss Netts through messages, emails and voice calls, pretending to be her and indicating she was moving to London.

Gareeca Gordon is being sentenced for the murder of Phoenix Netts
A brutal killer who murdered and dismembered her victim and dumped her remains in suitcases is due to be sentenced this morning.
Gareeca Conita Gordon, 28, has admited the murder of former student Phoenix Netts at the HMO property they shared in Lozells.
She was said to have killed the 28-year-old on April 16 last year and then bought a circular saw in a bid to cover up the crime.

Woman jailed for life for murdering and dismembering friend
A woman who murdered her friend and dismembered her body after demanding a sexual relationship with her has been jailed for life.
Gareeca Gordon, 28, will serve at least 23-and-a-half years’ imprisonment after she stabbed Phoenix Netts to death in April last year.
After inflicting four stab wounds to Ms Netts’ chest and torso, Gordon left her to die while refusing to call the emergency services. She may have lived for another 12 hours, a court heard.
The defendant then purchased a circular saw which she used to cut Ms Netts’ body into six pieces at the property they shared in Lozells, Birmingham, Bristol Crown Court heard.
