One recent sunny afternoon on the hunt for such delicacy I paid a visit to three spots in hopes of satisfying my palette.
Baked to perfection
Say ciao to fried empanadas: Nadine Ramos and Co. have something else in the oven.
Ramos owns Empanada Chicas, a new food truck serving baked empanadas filled with beef, chicken, spinach, mozzarella and my personal fave guava and cream cheese.
“Growing up up Latina, we definitely ate empanadas at least twice a week. The cheaper, more affordable route was always (buying) the fried version or my grandmother making it at home, but fried. I knew that I didn’t want to put that out there. I knew I wanted to set Empanada Chicas apart by offering something as delicious as a fried one, but in a baked version for a healthier alternative,” Ramos said. “I�
