PSA encounters glitch amid high volume of requests in first day of Nat l ID online registration

(PHILIPPINE STATISTICS AUTHORITY) “We apologize for any inconvenience caused by the downtime of the pilot launch of the PhilSys (Philippine Identification System) online Step 1 Registration website earlier today (April 30),” PSA said in a statement. It pointed out that the agency received more than 40,000 registration requests during the first minutes of the pilot launch. “This caused delays in the sending of the one-time passwords (OTPs) necessary to proceed with the registration,” PSA said. “We are urgently looking into the issue and updating the website to resolve this technical challenge,” it added. PSA said it will provide an update on its PhilSys Facebook page as soon as the website is once again operational.

Over 20 Million Filipinos Complete PhilSys Step 1 Registration | Philippine Statistics Authority

Monday, March 1, 2021 The Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) reports that more than 20 million Filipinos have completed Step 1 Registration for the Philippine Identification System (PhilSys) as of 26 February 2021. Per the latest count, PSA has recorded a total of 20,133,869 registrants who completed Step 1 Registration. This step, which involves the house-to-house collection of demographic information of low-income household heads and appointment setting for Step 2, recorded a total of 10.6 million registrants by the end of December 2020. Step 1 started on 12 October 2020 in 32 select provinces, which are considered as COVID-19 low-risk areas. Following the achievement of its initial target, PSA is now looking to set its target registrations to 70 million this year. PSA reminds registrants on documents to bring to PhilSys Step 2

ILOILO CITY, Jan. 29 (PIA) - - The Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) Region VI is reminding registrants on the necessary supporting documents to bring during the second step of the Philippine Identification System (PhilSys) registration tentatively scheduled this coming February. Step 2 registration is the validation of supporting documents and the capture of biometric information of individuals who participated in the first step of the registration phase which involved house-to-house collection of demographic information of these individuals and scheduling of their appointments to the registration center.
