A not guilty plea was entered during arraignment in Todd Circuit Court Wednesday for 37-year old Robert Larue, who allegedly stabbed his step-father several times during an altercation at his mother’s home on Morningside Drive in Elkton.
Circuit Judge Joe Hendricks accepted a not guilty plea on his behalf and said they would consider the possibility of bond modification at the next pre-trial hearing, which was set for June 2.
Larue is charged with first-degree assault domestic violence. Elkton police were called to 107 Morningside on February 3 regarding a domestic altercation in progress and were talking to the caller outside when officers heard sounds of another altercation inside.

The man accused of stabbing his step-father numerous times during a domestic disturbance in Elkton in February has been indicted by a Todd County Grand Jury.
The indictment is for one count of first-degree assault (domestic violence).
Elkton police were called to 107 Morningside Drive February 3 regarding a domestic altercation in progress and were talking to the caller outside when officers heard sounds of another altercation inside.
A police report says they found 37-year old Robert Larue on top of his stepfather, 68-year old Phillip Whittaker, on a bed. He allegedly had a knife in his hand and was brandishing it above his head as if in the middle of a stabbing motion.
Fifty-four-year-old Falmouth accountant, Phillip Whittaker, who is charged with the murder of 43-year-old Trelawny taxi operator, Garfield Binloss, was again denied bail when he appeared in the Trelawny Circuit Court on Monday, February 8.
The accused has been remanded until Tuesday, June 15, 2021 in the next sitting of the Trelawny Circuit Court.
The legal team representing the accused man made an application for bail on his behalf, but it was denied by the presiding judge.
Reports are that about 11 pm on Thursday, November 8, 2018, Binloss was shot and killed by the accused man during a dispute along Cornwall Street in the vicinity of a gas station in Falmouth. The taxi operator received gunshot wounds to his face and other upper sections of his body.
