Muscle Shoals man who allegedly took woman from her home charged with kidnapping, sexual abuse

A Muscle Shoals man faces multiple sex crime charges after police say he took a woman from her residence Wednesday.
Muscle Shoals police say Phillip Wayne Gonzalez has been charged with first degree kidnapping, two counts of first degree sodomy, first degree sexual abuse and intimidating a witness.
He has been transferred from the Muscle Shoals City Jail to the Colbert County Jail and is being held on $375,000 bond.
Police say officers received a report of a woman abducted from her home Wednesday around 7 p.m. The woman was later returned to her residence. Working with evidence they were able to make an arrest within three hours, officers said.

A man is in custody for a kidnapping, sodomy and sex abuse in Muscle Shoals.
According to Muscle Shoals Police Chief Clint Reck, shortly after 7 p.m. Wednesday evening, the department received a report related to the abduction of a woman from her home. They later identified the suspect as Phillip Wayne Gonzalez.
Reck says the victim was returned to her home a short time later, and a subsequent investigation resulted in Gonzalez’s arrest within three hours of the alleged abduction.

MUSCLE SHOALS, Ala. (WAFF) - A man in Muscle Shoals is now behind bars facing multiple sex crime charges.
Phillip Wayne Gonzalez is in custody after he confessed to taking to following a woman and then taking her from her home Wednesday night.
Officials with the Muscle Shoals Police Department say they received a report about an adult woman being abducted from her residence on December 16th.
