New Haven Public Schools (NHPS) Superintendent Iline Tracey, Asst. Superintendent Keisha Redd-Hannans, and soon-to-depart Chief Financial Officer Phillip Penn described that surprise conundrum last week during the latest aldermanic Finance Committee budget workshop. The Finance Committee will host one more public hearing on the proposed budgets on May 10 before deliberating on May 13 and May 20. The committee alders will then take a vote on a proposed amended budget and pass the document along to the full Board of Alders, which will then take a final vote on an amended budget in late May or early June.
