Kansas Community Mourns Local Pastor, 10-Year-Old Daughter Killed in Automobile Accident

Phillip Hett, 39, was driving with his two daughters, Abigail, 10, and Jillian, 13 when a pickup truck crossed the interstate median and collided with their vehicle. The driver of the pickup truck was killed, as well as Hett and Abigail, KWCH News reports. Jillian is expected to make a full recovery, however, the family remains heartbroken over their loss. Hett was a pastor at Bethany Village retirement community in Lindsborg. In a Facebook post, the nursing home announced the tragic news.

Posted By: George Lawson June 1, 2021 @ 10:55 am Local News, News By the Associated Press: The Kansas Highway Patrol says three people died – including a central Kansas pastor and his 10-year-old daughter – in a head-on crash on Interstate 135 near Salina. The patrol says the crash happened around 1:30 p.m. Sunday about 8 miles south of Salina. Investigators say a northbound pickup truck driven by 24-year-old Christopher Giroux, of Salina, crossed the interstate median into southbound lanes and collided with another pickup truck. Giroux was killed, as was the driver other driver, 39-year-old Phillip Hett, and his daughter, 10-year-old Abigail Hett. Phillip Hett’s 13-year-old daughter also was in his truck and was rushed to a hospital with serious injuries.
