Pin-Ups on Tour, a World War II-style variety and burlesque show, will make its way to Topeka on May 10.
The performance will take place 7 p.m. May 10 at the Phillip Billiard VFW Post 1650, 3110 S.W. Huntoon St. Tickets for veterans and active duty members are free and $20 for the general public. Those interested can purchase tickets and RSVP at pinupsontour.com.
According to Julia Reed Nichols, founder and chief pinup, the two-hour show features music from the 1940s to 1960s with a Las Vegas spin. Attendees are encouraged to dress up in vintage attire. There s a lot of gimmicks and old-school burlesque tricks, Nichols said. It s very similar to a show you would have seen touring around the nation mid-century.
