Octagon thrilled and hugely grateful for slice of £30 million fund as it battles to survive the pandemic
Octagon Theatre THE Octagon Theatre said it is hugely grateful to receive a slice of a £30 million fund to support the arts and culture industry during the pandemic. The theatre, described as Bolton s jewel in the crown will receive £320,000 from the one-off fund which has been set up by the Weston family in response to the impact of Covid-19, which has left theatres battling for survival. The pandemic struck as the Octagon theatre was planning its biggest year since it first opened. It had undergone a multi-million pound transformation and was setting the stage for its grand reopening.

DELIGHTED theatre bosses have received another £500,000 to help the Highlands biggest venue recover from the Covid-19 pandemic s effects.
Eden Court, in Inverness, was one of dozens of successful arts organisations to receive a share of £30 million from the Weston Culture Fund.
The fund has awarded grants ranging from between £100,000 to £1.5 million, depending on the size of the recipient.
And Eden Court s chief executive has promised to steward these funds carefully to ensure the best impact possible after receiving £500,000 â the largest single grant awarded to a Scottish-based organisation. Other big winners in Scotland included the likes of the Centre for the Moving Image (£355,300), Scottish Opera (£285,610) and the National Theatre of Scotland (£185,

A £30 million fund will help over 100 cultural organisations during the pandemic.
The one-off fund, with individual grants from £100,000 up to £1.5 million, has been set up by the Weston family in response to the impact of Covid-19.
The Weston Culture Fund will support museums, regional theatres and national touring ballet companies.
Recipients include Ballet Black, the National Theatre, Northern Ballet and the NoFit State Circus.
