For one day this year, people will get to experience the hidden beauty of Urchfont Manor, near Devizes. The house and gardens, described by Sir Nikolaus Pevsner as one of the best houses of its type in Wiltshire , was used between 1947 and 2013 as both a residential college for adult education and as a conference centre. It was purchased for a six-figure sum in 2013 by Londoners Chris Legg and Eleanor Jones, pictured, who completed a major restoration of its somewhat neglected grounds. MManor Now, on June 19, the manor’s outdoor space will be showcased as part of the National Garden Scheme.

The party, which has held a majority on Wiltshire Council, says it has an excellent track record of delivering for residents. In its manifesto, the party promises fully-costed, deliverable plans to meet the challenges the next four years will bring.
