Minister advocates compulsory community service in school curricula On Minister of State for Budget and National Planning, Prince Clem Ikanade Agba The Minister of State for Budget and National Planning, Mr Clem Agba, has advocated for the inclusion of compulsory community service in secondary and tertiary education curricula in the country, to encourage a culture of volunteerism. Agba, who stated this in Benin, at the 5th and 6th Graduation and 6th Matriculation ceremonies, respectively, as well as the 9th-anniversary ceremony of the Centre for Edo Delta Development Initiative (CEDDI), argued that inclusion of such service in school curricula would encourage charitable and volunteer work.

By Ozioruva Aliu   THE Minister of State for Budget and National Planning, Prince Clem Agba has called for the inclusion of compulsory community service in  the curriculum of secondary and tertiary schools in the country to encourage charitable and volunteer work.   Agba stated this in Benin City at the 5th Graduation ceremony, 6th Matriculation and 9th anniversary ceremony of the Centre for Edo Delta Development Initiative (CEDDI).   Represented by his Special Assistant, Dr Philip Ugbodaga, Agba said the activities of the centre and other similar initiatives were needed to accelerate President Muhammadu Buhari’s plan to lift 100 million Nigerians from poverty in the next ten years just as he also commended CEDDI on its enlightenment programs on diabetics.
