His serious news-presenting technique would become synonymous with his name, which Sherry would carry from his initial role, presenting radio at his local station, 2YD, in 1960, onto the more notable, including Wellington’s first television bulletin and the country’s first nationwide news programme, and onwards, until his retirement in the 1990s. Here we take a look at some of his more memorable moments from his long run on the small screen throughout the years.
