Driver shot and killed passenger on I-71 in Boone County following argument, sheriff s office says Cameron Knight and Quinlan Bentley, Cincinnati Enquirer
An Alabama man is dead and another is in police custody after a shooting on Interstate 71 on Thursday morning, officials said.
Boone County Sheriff s Department Lt. Philip Ridgell said a driver, 32-year-old Tommy Hightower, of Jasper, Alabama, called 911 just after 8:30 a.m. to report the shooting.
Dispatchers directed Hightower to pull off the highway at the Vernona exit and into a gas station.
Investigators discovered Hightower had shot his passenger, 36-year-old Girlis Serratt, also of Jasper, Alabama, as they were traveling southbound on the highway, Ridgell said.

BURLINGTON, Ky. (AP) An Alabama man was charged with fatally shooting his passenger as they traveled on an interstate in Kentucky on Thursday, a law enforcement official said.
The driver reported the shooting around 8:30 a.m. while still traveling on Interstate 75-71 in Boone County, across the Ohio River from Cincinnati, and was told to exit the highway, according to a news release from the county sheriff s office.
Prosecutors say a Florence couple habitually locked their four-year-old son in a bedroom filled with trash for up to 15 hours a day to “prevent any distractions while the other children in the home virtually attended school.”

BURLINGTON, Ky. (FOX19) - Police arrested a 34-year-old man on Friday, charging him with the rape of a juvenile in Boone County.
Justin Radcliff has been charged with one count of rape - victim under 12 years of age.
According to the Boone County Sheriff’s Office, they received a report which alleged sexual contact between Radcliff and an 11-year-old.
They said he admitted to the allegation and tried to convince the victim not to tell anyone.
