German tradefair industry association
AUMA has demanded that exhibitors and organisers be given a fresh, concrete perspective for restarting business and that industry platforms should no longer be closed.
AUMA also renewed its call for tried and tested standards for health protection to be reactivated in Germany. The exhibition industry’s demands were directed at the Germany’s federal states’ prime ministers conference scheduled for 3 March 2021.
Since the beginning of March 2020, the German exhibition industry has been at a standstill, save for a brief interruption AUMA noted.
Part of the re-start, said AUMA, should include reclassifying exhibitions as business platforms, in accordance with the decision of the federal and state governments on 6 May 2020.

Philip Harting, CEO of the HARTING Technology Group, was re-elected at the virtual general meeting of ZVEI’s “Electronic Components and Systems” (ECS) trade association.
Philip Harting had already served as chairman of the trade association for three years, and will now be on board for another three-year tenure.
“With our components, we represent the “T” in the Internet of Things, and are thereby positioned right at the outset of the supply chain. The component industry makes a significant contribution to the networking and intelligence of products and influences all sectors of the electrical industry such as Industry 4.0, the energy transition and smart grid, smart home, medical technology or electric mobility,” said Philip Harting in his assessment of the current situation following his re-election.
