A syndicate of Carlisle bus drivers and their company secretary is celebrating today after scooping a £1m UK Millionaire Maker win.
The 10-strong syndicate, Plan B, who all work for Stagecoach, will each bank £100,000 after their ticket matched the EuroMillions UK Millionaire Maker code in the draw on April 16.
And they said today although the news is still sinking in, they all have big plans for their winnings, ranging from new cars and paying off mortgages, to treating the family and splashing out on camper vans to make the most of the Great British staycation boom.
Nine bus drivers insist the love of the job will keep them from retiring despite the fact they split a £1 million lottery win.
The Carlisle-based Stagecoach lottery syndicate, named Plan B, will each pocket £100,000 after hitting the EuroMillions jackpot - but they have vowed to continue in their jobs.
The syndicate, whose ages range from 30 to 65, each have their own plans for their winnings - including forking out on camper vans to make the most of the Great British summer.
Father of three Kevin Davidson, 50, said treating his family is top of his shopping list. This is a life-changing sum of money for every single one of us and we all have different plans.

Murder charges dropped against Oxnard man after 11 years behind bars
VENTURA COUNTY, Calif. - An Oxnard man who claims he was wrongfully convicted of attempted murder more than a decade ago appeared in court on Monday for a life-changing ruling.
The day ended in tears as 32-year-old Ignacio Ixta Jr. learned he was being released from jail.
Ixta was convicted by a jury trial in 2010 for attempted murder and related felonies in connection to a December 2009 shooting.
However in 2020, the Ventura County District Attorney s Conviction Integrity Unit learned that four search warrants involving one of the prosecution’s key witnesses had not been provided to their office with Ixta’s case materials.
