A virtual public consultation has started regarding the proposals for Moortown Lane. The virtual presentation by St Congar Group is available to view on a dedicated website set up for the consultation. The company says the homes will range from one bed flats to four bed detached houses. A presentation board said: “This will provide a broad choice of properties within the local housing market, whether that is for first time buyers or people wishing to ‘right size’ to a home more suitable for their needs.” More than 55 per cent of the site, approximately 37 acres, is set to be new public open space and Alternative Natural Recreational Greenspace, which would be made up of parkland, equipped and informal play areas, and amenity space for outdoor activities such as dog walking, exercise and outdoor sport.
Sponsorship deal: Carlisle United chairman Andrew Jenkins with Thomas Graham managing director Roger Smith, centre, and chairman Ian Smith, at Brunton Park (photo: Amy Nixon)
Carlisle United have confirmed the identity of their new shirt sponsor for next season – with Cumbrian firm Thomas Graham to appear on the front of the Blues’ kit. They will replace Edinburgh Woollen Mill as United’s main shirt sponsor in a deal struck for the 2021/22 campaign. The move comes after the fall into administration of EWM’s retail business and ends their four-year tenure as United’s shirt sponsors. And it marks a further move away from the Blues’ recent relationship with EWM, who have been central to United’s financial direction since 2017.
Just Eat boss has plenty of appetite to finish off Deliveroo
Jitse Groen has gone for the jugular on Deliveroo s stock market flop, putting him at risk of hubris, but he is in the fight to win it
13 April 2021 • 6:44pm
You only have to look at Jitse Groen s Twitter profile to know why Just Eat’s press handlers keep him on a tight leash.
Keen not to ruffle any feathers, most chief executives will carefully deflect questions about their rivals. Not Groen. The 42-year-old went for the jugular when reflecting on Deliveroo s stock market flop last week.
“Disaster. This is clearly very damaging to their business, their customers and the trust in the European tech sector as a whole,” he said.
