A group of seven suspects, including four police officers and a Tshwane metro police cop, are expected to appear in the Johannesburg Magistrate’s Court on Wednesday on charges of corruption, armed robbery and kidnapping.
The Hawks have arrested five Gauteng police officers and two civilians in connection with an armed robbery where a Johannesburg businesswoman was robbed of R83 000.
A 41-year-old man who was arrested on trafficking charges in 2021, now has a corruption charge added to his rap sheet after it emerged that he allegedly instructed his brothers and wife to bribe a Hawks officer to drop the case.
