Our Correspondent Imphal, Nov. 25 (EMN): India B (Manipur) trounced Indian Navy 18-1 in the first ground while UK defeated USA 8-3 in the second ground on the fourth day of the Manipur Polo International 2022, organised by the Manipur Horse Riding and Polo Association, at Mapal Kangjeibung on Friday. In the first match, the local boys completely outplayed the Indian Navy team as indicated by the score line. Indian Navy were the first to draw blood in the 1.32nd minute through Cdr AK Panchal in the first chukkar. But shortly after, Manipur opened their account and pumped in as many as six goals in the first chukkar. T Pradeepkumar, P Ojit and Atangba scored two goals apiece. In the second chukkar, Manipur fired in five more goals with Atangba scoring thrice and P Ojit twice while the Indian Navy team failed to score a single goal. Our Correspondent Imphal, Nov. 23 (EMN): Host Manipur representing India B trounced India A represented by Indian Polo Association players 8-3 in a thrilling match at the historic Mapal Kangjeibung in Imphal on Wednesday, the 2nd day of the 14th Manipur Polo International tournament 2022. The Manipur team held total sway in the 1st chukkar, striking at the goal four times while the India A team managed to score only once. P Ojit opened the account for the host team in the 1.58th minute and followed it up with another one in the 2.00nd minute. Atangba increased the tally to three goals in the 2.11th minute. India A managed to pull one back through Major Anan in the 6.20th minute. The chukkar ended 4-1 in favour of Manipur with Pradeep Kumar striking in the 6.33rd minute. Our Correspondent Imphal, Nov. 21 (EMN): The United Kingdom (UK) on Tuesday thrashed Indian Navy 16-0 in the opening match of the 14th Manipur Polo International tournament played at Mapal Kangjeibung, the oldest living pologround in the world located in the heart of Imphal town. Indian Navy did not have any answer to the relentless onslaught of UK in their debut match as UK players Harry Tucker and Phil Seller played splendidly, scoring six and five goals respectively. Phil Seller opened the account for the UK as early as in the 47th minute of the first chukkar following it up with another goal in the 1.10th minute. Jack Tucker increased UK’s lead to 3-0 in the 3.43rd minute. Thereafter, Tucker added two more goals in the 4.03rd minute and 6.42nd minute to end the first chukkar 5-0 in favour of UK.
