Plans are under way for the 2021 Missouri Days Marching Festival in Trenton set for Saturday, October 16.
“This year will be special in many ways,” reports Phil Ray, speaking on behalf of the Marching Festival Steering Committee. “With the cancellation of last year’s festival resulting in the staging of a virtual marching festival, we fully expect everyone wanting to be back on the street, on the court, and on the field as we look forward to the 2021 marching season. This year, Missouri is celebrating its bicentennial, and Trenton is the home of The Missouri Day Festival. We will be welcoming several special guests from across the great state to celebrate with us on October 16th.”

An Altoona man, who continued to fight drug charges filed against him in 2010 even though he had already completed his prison sentence, has now lost his appeal before the Pennsylvania Superior Court.
Shawn Edward Gibson, who appeared before Blair County Judge Daniel J. Milliron last year concerning his release on bail from the State Correctional Institution at Pine Grove, said he was continuing with his appeal before the Superior Court because, “I want to clear my name.”
He maintained that he shouldn’t have been arrested in the first place.
Milliron had already indicated that Gibson was entitled to be resentenced on his charges based on a 2013 U.S. Supreme Court ruling, known as the Alleyne case, that found Pennsylvania’s mandatory sentencing laws unconstitutional.

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) The hospitality business in downtown Indianapolis is on the comeback trail thanks to some big events. None is bigger than the March Madness tournament.
Even with those games more than a month away, hotels are ramping up their staff in anticipation of what’s to come.
This weekend, the JW Marriott is at 90% capacity thanks to a couple big events downtown, which means staff is coming back, too.
Friday was Angel Bryant’s first day back working in nine months.
“Day 1,” she said with glee.
Bryant is a hostess and server for the High Velocity Sports Bar inside JW Marriott. It’s been a long wait, but the call from her old boss finally came five days ago.
