A major snowstorm is expected to hit the Juniata Valley Wednesday, bringing with it at least 8 inches of snow, although it could be a foot or more, according to AccuWeather and the National Weather Service.
LEWISTOWN A major winter storm is expected to blanket the Juniata Valley in a foot or more of snow from Wednesday morning into Thursday, according to the National Weather Service and Mifflin County Emergency Services Director Phil Lucas.
According to the NWS forecast, snow is expected to be heaviest during the afternoon and early evening Wednesday. The NWS said snowfalls in excess of 8 inches for the area are likely, but most of the area is now forecast to receive at least a foot of snow Wednesday into Thursday. The entire Juniata Valley is under a winter storm watch beginning Wednesday morning.
