Pollsters only get surprised by the strength of insurgencies. Its never a surprise that the establishment candidate, no matter what year were talking about, turns out to be stronger than we thought. Thats never the thing they miss. Well, prognostication is often based on poll numbers and stuff, but also you look for endorsements, you look for money, you look for the professionalism of the campaign, you look for ads. If youre prognosticating in an old school fashion, you add up all this stuff that tends to be a sort of oblique measurement of establishment support. And so when establishment candidates dont do well, it does usually blindside everybody. But i mean, this year with the kind of politics that weve got right now actually in both the democratic and republican parties, i think prognostication is a very dangerous business to be in in general. Judge. The first is that Paul Manaforts defense team doesnt want his second felony trial to be in washington, d. C. Paul manaforts defense lawyer today speaking to the judge. Mr. Wesling. Quote, just to give the court notice we will file this week a motion for change of venue. We wanted to just give you notice, your honor, and not be in a situation where that came tomorrow or at the end of the week so you would be surprised by it.
