Pennsylvania: All adults eligible for vaccine on Tuesday

HARRISBURG, Pa. (AP) Pennsylvania will expand eligibility for the COVID-19 vaccine to all adults beginning Tuesday, nearly a week ahead of schedule, state officials announced Monday.
State health officials said the quicker rollout was enabled by “ongoing appointment availability” in many parts of the state.
“We need to maintain acceleration of the vaccine rollout, especially as case counts and hospitalization rates have increased,” Gov. Tom Wolf said in a statement.
The state expanded eligibility to essential workers in a range of industries on Monday.
Workers in transportation and logistics, construction, public health, public safety, finance, legal services, media and several other industries in Phase 1C of the state s vaccine rollout became eligible to sign up for the vaccine.

CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. (WVIR) - Those who qualify for the COVID-19 vaccine under Phase 1c in the Blue Ridge Health District can sign up and expect to get an appointment, but it may not be right away.
“We are opening up to Phase 1c. We want to make sure everyone has an opportunity to schedule appointments, and so the VAMs system has many appointments available over the next two months. There are plenty of appointments that we want people to get in there and schedule,” BRHD Spokesperson Kathryn Goodman said.

RICHMOND, Va. (WWBT) - Thursday, even more people in the Commonwealth will have the opportunity to get their COVID-19 vaccination.
Many health districts in Central Virginia are moving into Phase 1c, which allows for more essential workers to get their shot. People who work in the foodservice industry, utilities or legal services all fall under this category. Even barbers and hairstylists are now able to get vaccinated.
Under the city's Phase 1c coronavirus vaccine rollout, four new groups of people are now eligible for the coronavirus vaccine now in addition to those in Phases.
Underlying medical conditions
Cancer (current diagnosis), Cardiac, cardiovascular, and cerebrovascular disorders (including heart disease, coronary artery disease, and hypertension or high blood pressure), Chronic Kidney Disease, Chronic respiratory disorders (including cystic fibrosis, moderate to severe asthma, pulmonary fibrosis, and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease/emphysema [COPD]), Diabetes (Type 1 and Type 2), Disability: physical, developmental, visual, hearing, or mental, Neurologic conditions (including dementia), Down Syndrome, Immunocompromised state (weakened immune system) including from blood or bone marrow transplant, immune deficiencies, HIV, use of corticosteroids, or use of other immune weakening medicines, Liver disease (including hepatitis), Pregnancy, Obesity: BMI ≥30 kg/m2, Schizophrenia spectrum disorders, Sickle Cell Disease, Thalassemia, persons with disabilities
