Poland didn’t get the chance to race for last Saturday’s $1 million Australian Guineas, but the autumn carnival is not yet finished for the group 2 winner.
Trainer Mike Moroney said Poland appeared to stretch a muscle after an accident in the saddling stalls before the classic on Saturday, but he said the son of So You Think took no long-lasting harm out of the incident. He’s pretty good now, back to about 95 per cent so we’ll look to see what’s there for him in Sydney,’’ Moroney said on Monday. The (group 2) Phar Lap Stakes (at Rosehill on March 13) might be a chance for him depending on how he comes through the next few days.’’
