The FDA on Thursday authorized bivalent COVID-19 vaccines for children as young as 6 months old who previously received the Moderna vaccine or who have not yet completed their primary Pfizer vaccine series.
One month after the federal government authorized the COVID-19 vaccine for children under 5, about 300,000 U.S. kids in that age group have received at least one dose of the vaccine, a Biden administration official said.
The FDA could authorize Pfizer’s COVID-19 vaccine for children under age 5 in the next month, Anthony Fauci, MD, director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases, said Wednesday.
