Updated: 8:32 AM EST Jan 21, 2021 By Tom Lehman WGAL News 8 has received many calls and emails from viewers who are wondering: Where are my unemployment benefits?Funding for two federal programs, Pandemic Unemployment Assistance (PUA) and Pandemic Emergency Unemployment Compensation (PEUC), expired in late December.New funding for those programs was part of the most recent federal stimulus package, but the Pennsylvania Department of Labor & Industry said there is a hitch.The federal government has new requirements for PUA and PEUC, including increased verification of benefits.A spokeswoman for the Pennsylvania Department of Labor & Industry said the state has to revamp the computer system that issues benefits for the programs, and that could also delay the extra $300 per week that people might be expecting with those benefits.State officials said there is no timetable for when PUA and PEUC payments will resume.People who have questions should email uchelp@pa.gov.UPD
