U.S. Rep. George Santos, a Republican from New York, was charged with theft in Pennsylvania in 2017 for allegedly writing a series of bad checks to pay for puppies from a dog breeder. The charge was dismissed, and his record expunged, after he claimed that his checkbook had been stolen. The Congressman is facing several investigations after reports surfaced that he had fabricated portions of his bio during his campaign last year.
