KUALA LUMPUR: The application of former Treasury secretary-general Tan Sri Mohd Irwan Serigar Abdullah to strike out the suit filed by 1Malaysia Development Berhad (1MDB) against him and former 1MDB chief executive officer Arul Kanda Kandasamy will be heard on July 1.
KUALA LUMPUR: A former 1Malaysia Development Bhd (1MDB) chairman told the High Court that he did not meet with Datuk Seri Najib Razak before his resignation as he suspected that the former prime minister was involved in a sham joint venture (JV) between 1MDB and PetroSaudi International Ltd (PSI) in 2009.
Tan Sri Mohd Bakke Salleh testified that he was “suspicious” that former prime minister Datuk Seri Najib Abdul Razak was “involved in the scheme of things” in regards to 1Malaysia Development Bhd’s (1MDB) PetroSaudi joint venture (JV) in 2009, which eventually spiralled to burn a sum of US$1.53 billion in 1MDB’s coffers.

Prosecution witness Tan Sri Ismee Ismail, former director of 1Malaysia Development Bhd, told the court that RM2.28 billion from 1MDB transactions had entered the personal accounts of former prime minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak.
