The Petrolia Community Fund announced $10,000 in grants on New Year’s Day for several local groups and projects.
An announcement of the grants – part of the town heritage committee’s annual New Year’s Day Levee tradition at Victoria Hall – was made during an online video presentation during a virtual levee, instead of a public gathering, because of pandemic restrictions.

“While we have been standing together while standing six feet apart for the last several months, I am looking forward with positivity that we will be able to gather together again when it is safe to do so” Mayor Brad Loosley said.
