In about two weeks, on 26 February 2024, the fifth Prague International Chess Festival (PICF) will begin. This year the four best juniors in the world - Praggnanandhaa, Gukesh, Abdusattorov and Keymer - will be in Prague to complete the strong field of Vidit, Rapport, Maghsoodloo, Navara, Bartel and Nguyen. Organizers announced the planned date of the 6th Festival immediately after the conclusion of the June Prague International Chess Festival. After three summer years, the Festival will return to its traditional season, specifically between February and March, and place, i.e. Don Giovanni Hotel Prague. The fifth edition of the Prague Chess Festival will take place on June 21-30 at the Don Giovanni Hotel in the Czech capital. The Masters Tournament is a 10-player single round-robin with Wang Hao, Sam Shankland and defending champion Pentala Harikrishna (pictured) as the top seeds.
