On overnight. Jessica oh is here with the latest. Jessica this time more than 400 people were involved. It was one of the biggest demonstrations weve seen there so far. Protestors and Law Enforcement have different stories about what led up to this confrontation. It was chaotic and tense, when hundreds of demonstrators met police on backwater bridge north of the main protest camp. Protestors say bridge. They claim that deputies who were blocking the bridge fired rubber bullets and tear gas at them and sprayed them with a water cannon in subfreezing temperatures. The Sheriffs Office says some of those claims are exaggerated. They called this an ongoing riot and said demonstrators started several fires and did try to attack the police line. People and things are getting heated but they werent violent. In fact it wasnt until after trump took the stage that that is when the fight started breaking out. Since then, the protesters made their way away from the San Jose Convention center. That is where the rally was taking place. They ended up marching down park avenue. I took some video of what happened. This support corner of park avenue. Its by the 87 freeway. That is where the police lines, they divided the protesters into 2 groups. Some of the protesters went north and some stayed south with me. At that point police said they were declaring this and off level an unlawful assembly. And anyone who did not scatter would be arrested. I did have a moment to talk to a protester who was very upset about what was going on. They took it upon themselves to take our signs and smashed them. We were standing there chanting. All of us, the group i can with weve been nonviolent the entire time. Ktvus Jana Katsuyama has been monitoring the protest. Jana, whats the situation right now . Reporter julie, i just spoke with the San Jose Police officer who tells me that there are still some protesters who are around the downtown area. Possibly as many as 100 but they are trying to break that up. Earlier today this street was packed with more than 500 people. It was tense and very emotionally charged. Take a look. At one point part of the group swarmed into the Hotel Driveway trapping one woman who was wearing a trump shirt.
