ST. PETERSBURG â Fifty years ago, Askia Muhammad Aquil was acquitted.
The St. Petersburg resident â then named Otha Favors â was acquitted of marijuana possession. He was acquitted of operating a business without a license, contributing to the delinquency of a minor and occupying a room for immoral purposes. He was acquitted on two firearms charges and one obscenity charge.
