The suspect has a history of traffic violations and drug abuse. He was wanted by police in March 2021 on five outstanding warrants for bail jumping and criminal contempt of court related to drug charges.
Keola Whitehead-Shibata was officially charged Thursday afternoon with second-degree attempted murder, ownership or possession prohibited, and carrying a firearm in the commission of a separate felony. He slated to appear in District Court for an initial appearance today.
