subpoenas in an investigation, the clinton e-mail investigation in which no one was indicted. information about hillary clinton, bruce ohr, lisa page, peter strok, for the department to maintain they never provide information in cases that don t result in indictment, and 880,000 pages demonstrate that. they did so because there was an intense public interest and need to know and because congress insisted, and the case for public disclosure here with allegations that are far more serious is much more compelling. in the case of hillary clinton who did not win the election, she was not in a position to cover through the justice department any evidence of wrongdoing. this president is, and this president there is, i think, all too much evidence has tried to interfere, has tried to obstruct, and for that reason it is all the more incumbent on the justice department to be even more transparent.
about political bias from peter strok and lisa page, the fbi officers who exchanged text messages where they were very critical of donald trump. they said they re concerned there may have been an abuse to the fisa process, to potentially surveilling people surrounding donald trump s campaign. they re calling on a special counsel to investigate the way that the russia investigation started and was handled and the way the hillary clinton investigation was handled. like you said, they basically think that the justice department went too easy on hillary clinton and too hard on donald trump and the russians. they have sort of an interesting reason for why they think it is so important for there to be another outside counsel investigating this. they re saying that, you know, there s no effort to try to discredit the special counsel, in fact it is the opposite. in this report they say whatever product is produced by the special counsel must be trusted by americans, and that requires asking to
answered. they want to move on from this. we absolutely want the answers and the truth. i agree with you. part of that will be what donald trump says in these answers to the questions that, as you mentioned in the opening, he is currently drafting. we can t get until the end of this until the president gives some answer. he s apparently doing that right now. how long it continues after that will be dependent on what the answers are and what other information mueller has. i think that s the weight of the commonsense way to proceed. mueller is trying to get through all of this. there s a lot of issues here. he s indicted a number of people. he s passed off a number of cases not in relation to collusion though. lisa, you have no idea what bob mueller is seeing. you have none. it is much more than the senate and house. i know peter strok they already had a counter intelligence investigation that was on going and peter strok didn t want to work on the
additional declassifications over the coming weeks. well, there you go. that was house intel chairman devin nunes last thursday and his wish came true just four days later, when president trump, citing the need for transparency, called for the release of highly classified documents and texts related to the fbi investigation. among those documents he want release rd portions of fisa warrant to messages relating to the investigation by peter strok, lisa paige, james comey, andrew mcabe and bruce ohr. very much a campaign sort of implication that they view this as a political act here. explain why the law enforcement community is so concerned about what the president has done.
oldest, strongest ally, or he s doing it accidentally. i think it s bad either way. only thing we can be sure of, they were red and pink star bursts, correct? we ll ta thank you, sir. thanks, josh. it s a very contentious day as peter strok testifies before congress. what was originally said being changed. i don t give a damn what you appreciate, agent strok. and that s one of the more tame parts of the day. oh, look. another anti-wrinkle cream in no hurry to make anything happen. neutrogena® rapid wrinkle repair® works in just one week. with the fastest retinol formula available. it s clinically proven to work on fine lines and wrinkles. one week? that definitely works!
