Futures tied to the broad S&P 500 flickered between gains and losses, while Dow Jones Industrial Average futures edged down 0.1%. Nasdaq-100 futures also slid 0.1%, pointing to further weakness for tech stocks a day after they pulled broader indexes lower. Stocks have broadly flatlined this week despite a better than expected start to the earnings season and signs of the economy recovering. With indexes hovering close to record levels, investors expect corporate earnings to cross a high hurdle to support stocks rich valuations. There is also some concern about President Biden s planned tax hikes and the surge in coronavirus cases in India.
