On April 9, 2021, the British royal family confirmed the passing of His Royal Highness Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh. In a statement shared by Buckingham Palace, the royal family shared that Queen Elizabeth II’s husband Philip had died at age 99 at his home in Windsor Castle just a few weeks after returning home from a hospital stay for heart surgery. The Duke lived a long and exceptional life of royal service, devoted to his wife the Queen until the very end and a longtime fixture at state affairs. He’s met with the Pope, the Beatles, and nine U.S. presidents and even more impressive is his beautiful family.
