our job is not to coronate the biggest fund raiser or rubber stamp the status quo or keep on going along to get along. it s to use our votes. to elect a speaker who will enable us to get our country back on track. neil: when we eventually decide on that person. i m neil cavuto. this is your world. the showdown to decide who will become the need leader goes into a sixth vote that for the republican leader right now, kevin mccarthy, it s the same old story. a political grounds hog day that yields the same results with every vote. etch though we don t have the sixth round of voting done, we can already know by seeing those under the others category that kevin mccarthy has failed yet again to get the votes he needed. you can t afford to lose more than 4. with each and every voted, he s lost that many and more. it could be as low as 19 and as high as 20. no matter how you slice it, he s coming up zero. chad pergram on capitol hill with more on this and where this goes now. c
scott desjardins, because he is not negotiating and they are having an amicable conversation, and he is not negotiating, and so maybe he has to change the posture, but jim jordan is about to speak, and the expectation is to signal the supporters to support kevin mccarthy, and he is a close ally of mccarthy, and they have developed a close tie over the years, and this is a key source of the alliance between jordan and mccarthy. will jordan say, come vote and tell his six supporters to vote for mccarthy potentially, yes. will that change the math, no. this is still some paperwork is being done, and once that vote is being officially closed, and they will move on to the second vote, and the clerk of the house is about to make an announcement, and we will have the second vote to take place, and the conservatives is going to announce a potentially second nominee, and we will see if that is going to play out, but kevin mccarthy is certainly to fall short, and not expecting to step

hi there, everyone. it s 4:00 in new york. whatever the results of next tuesday s midterm elections, there is no denying that these midterm elections are taking place with the very real specter of political violence and the prevalence of disinformation as a political weapon, unmatched in modern political times. large swaths of the gop have been swallowed up completely by the disinformation about the integrity of our very election systems, and many on the right have normalized conversations around political violence to the point in which polls show it is accepted by many as a useful tool to achieving the right s political aims. now, this says all sorts of things about the weakness of our democracy right now. more importantly, it says a whole lot of things about the weakness of the gop as a governing party. now, a party interested in governing would be desperate to debate policy and have those debates and win those debates ridded in data and a shared set of facts. there s none
