Ronnie and Reggie Kray are among Britain’s most notorious gangsters. The duo, known as the Kray Twins, carried off murder, armed robberies, assaults and other barbaric crimes with their gang The Firm, in East London. During their reign in the Fifties and Sixties, they gained celebrity status and rubbed shoulders with Frank Sinatra, Barbara Windsor and others. Their exploits were fictionalised in the 1990 film The Krays, which starred Martin and Gary Kemp. This was said to have angered the criminals who explicitly did not like the film.
