Two Falmouth police recruits were fired after they violated rules at the police academy in New Braintree in January.
Student officers Ryan Murphy and Tyrone Reine III were dismissed, one for violating the academy’s policies by drinking in the dorms and the other for lying during the investigation, according to a report outlining the investigation that was obtained by the Cape Cod Times through a public records request.
At 10:58 p.m. Jan. 7, Trooper Steffan Welch received a call from the New Braintree Dispatch for a reported 911 hang-up call coming from the Alpha building at the State Police Academy. The caller was identified as student officer Ryan Murphy.
