Evesham s independent cinema receives cash boost from arts recovery fund

THE Regal Cinema on Port Street in Evesham has received a boost after being allocated £197, 917 from the government s arts recovery fund. Live entertainment at theatres and music venues across the county have been thrown a lifeline thanks to the multi-million pound cash boost. Worcester Live, which runs Huntingdon Hall and the Swan Theatre, and Paradiddles music bar were also among those to hear they will receive money through the arts council as part of the government’s culture recovery fund. Worcester Live has been allocated £122,000 while the Paradiddles music bar in Worcester has also received £25,000, which will enable the business to re-start live performances at the earliest opportunity.

£2 6m Culture Recovery Fund cash for the Black Country

ARTS and entertainment venues across the Black Country have received a £2.6million boost from the second round of the the Government’s Culture Recovery Fund. Businesses and organisations in Dudley, Halesowen and Stourbridge are among those to have secured funding that aims to help organisations transitioning back to normal after months of closures and cancellations due to the coronavirus pandemic £2,634,653 has been awarded through the Arts Council to support 35 organisations in the Black Country as part of further funding through the Government’s Culture Recovery Fund – which aims to ensure theatres, galleries, museums, performance groups, arts organisations and local venues affected by the challenges of the Covid-19 crisis to have a sustainable future.

Cash award for The Courtyard s transformation

The Courtyard learned recently that it has been awarded a £210,380 Capital Kickstart grant as part of the Government’s £1.57 billion Culture Recovery Fund. The Capital Kickstart grants programme helps cultural organisations cover additional costs to capital projects caused by pandemic-related delays or fundraising shortfalls, such as building works, refurbishments, and large-scale equipment. The Courtyard has recently come to the end of its capital expansion project ‘Transform The Yard’. The extension of the building will strengthen the region’s cultural infrastructure and enable further income generation to support community initiatives and future-proof the Arts Centre. The grant will help The Courtyard complete the project, including fitting out its brand-new shop and Café Bar areas. It will also enable the installation of a new air conditioning unit in the Garrick Room keeping it well ventilated through the pandemic and cool in the summer months.
