The Select Board is unanimously supporting a proposal from the Weston Affordable Housing Foundation Inc. (WAHFI) to spend just over $1 million to build a new duplex at 8-10 Birch Lane off of Rte. 20, despite concerns from the Finance Committee that the price tag is too high.
Residents at Town Meeting on May 15 will have the final vote on whether the project, which would consist of two affordable units of three bedrooms each, receives funding from the town s Community Preservation Act (CPA) account.
Each unit would be for rental only, consisting of a little over 1,600 square feet and including one-and-a-half bathrooms and a garage.
