THE town s mayor, who had his recent term blighted by Covid, is set to carry on as mayor after being re-elected by councillors. Councillor Mick Radley has been renamed mayor of Halstead and chairman of Halstead Town Council for a second term. Mr Radley was first elected back in May 2020 but had his time in office ruined by the relentless Covid pandemic. At the council s Annual Town Council meeting on May 4, councillors elected Mr Radley to have another year in the hot seat. Following his re-election, Mr Radley has thanked volunteers, staff and groups like Halstead in Bloom for their work during the pandemic.
