State Senate censures Chesterfield Republican running for Governor Photo: WINA
RICHMOND (WINA) – The Virginia State Senate in a 24-to-9 bipartisan vote has made Chesterfield County Republican Amanda Chase just the 2nd state Senator censured in the history of the legislative body. A hastily drawn resolution, that was advanced to the Senate floor from the Privileges and Elections Committee without hearings, had 8 counts ranging from a confrontation with a State Capitol police officer in 2019, to her just recent support of U.S. Capitol ralliers she called “patriots” prior to many raiding the Capitol building.
