EDEN, TX – Texas Rangers are investigating a fatal shooting involving two law enforcement officers in Eden late Monday evening.
According to reports, two law enforcement officers were shot and killed Monday evening in Eden and a crime scene has been taped off on the northeast side of Eden in Concho County. One civilian was also reportedly shot in the stomach and rushed to Shannon Medical Center in San Angelo.

There is no known motive at this time and the victims have not been identified.
According to witnesses, Law enforcement officers pulled the suspect over and they heard the cops say, Roll your window down and then put up your hands. According to witnesses, the driver fled and after a short pursuit the suspect stopped at his home around the corner.

EDEN - Two Concho County sheriff s deputies were killed in a shootout in Eden on Monday night, according to police reports.
The slain officers were transported to Lubbock for an autopsy, with a procession led by area law enforcement.
Vehicles pulled to the side of Interstate 27 in south Lubbock as well as other thoroughfares on the route.
At approximately 8:40 p.m. Monday, the deputies were dispatched to the 100 block of Bryan Street for a dog complaint. An Eden city employee also arrived at the house.

At approximately 8:40 p.m., the deputies were dispatched to the 100 block of Bryan Street for a dog complaint. An Eden city employee also arrived at the house.
While making contact with an individual at the residence, an altercation occurred which quickly escalated to gunfire, according to Sergeant Justin Baker with the Texas Highway Patrol.
As a result, the two deputies, Samuel Leonard and Stephen Jones, were fatally wounded, while the city employee was critically wounded.
The investigation is ongoing and a more detailed statement will be released in the near future, Baker said.

A standoff lasted 30 minutes before the suspect in the shooting was arrested
Jeffrey Nicholas, 28, was arrested without further incident on two counts of capital murder of a peace officer - he is being held on $4 million bond
No motive has been given for the shooting at this point in time
Neighbors complained of vicious dogs in the area, though Nicholas claimed at one point that the dogs did not belong to him

EDEN, Texas Two Concho County Sheriff’s deputies died in a shooting Monday night after a short car chase. According to Conchovalleyhomepage.com, the deputies were shot and killed after the shooter led officers on a short chase and then barricaded himself in a building.
As a result, a standoff ensued, which ultimately led to the deadly gunfire that killed the two deputies. A third victim was hurt and taken to Shannon Medical Center. This took place in or near Eden, Texas, which is 160 miles west of Austin.
