Congressman Lee Zeldin Visits Utica
The 2022 GOP Gubernatorial candidate made his first visit to Utica since he announced his candidacy.

New York Republican Congressman and 2022 Gubernatorial candidate Lee Zeldin visited Utica this weekend for the first time since announcing his candidacy two weeks ago.
Zeldin, who represents the state s 1st District which makes up most of Suffolk County on Long Island, dined with State Senator Joe Griffo on Saturday night. He has already been endorsed by 21 GOP county chairs, including Oneida Countty GOP Chair Pete Sobel. Zelden had breakfast with Sobel on Sunday morning.
Oneida County Republicans Nominate New BOE Commissioner
Oneida County Republicans have a final candidate to take the position of Commissioner of the Board of Elections, according to Pete Sobel, Oneida County Republican Chair.
Nichole Shortell of Camden, was approved by the executive committee and will now go before the full Republican Committee, for approval. Once approved by the party, her nomination will move forward to the Legislature for approval. Shortell is currently the GOP Chairman for Camden.
Sobel told WIBX that seven candidates screened for the position, and it was reported that five of those candidates removed themselves from consideration at one point last week.
