ICM Partners Hires Industry Vets Ron Kaplan, Garry Buck and Alex Buck

Dan Weiner and Fred Bohlander when  Monterey International was acquired by Paradigm in 2017. Weiner and Bohlander founded Monterey Peninsula Artists in 1975 and launched the Chicago-based Monterey International agency in 1994. The two agencies were considered the premiere independent  booking operation through much of the 1990s . In 2004, Monterey Peninsula was acquired by Paradigm, and Weiner and Bohlander, along with the late Chip Hooper, joined the newly merged agency while Monterey International was spun off into its own company. Kaplan and Garry Buck s relationship goes back even farther, more than 35 years, starting at Chicago talent agency Prestige in the mid-80 s. Prestige would go on to become American Famous Talent and the two men would build out a contemporary talent roster that includes their roster into a who s who of contemporary talent including Corinne Bailey Rae,  Macy Gray, Mavis Staples (Europe only), Richard Marx, Robert Randolph & The Family Band,  Tow

i have the honor and privilege to be interviewing mr. laurence silberman. thank you for doing this. let s start with a biographical question. tell me how derek balk got you to hawaii. i was going to clerk for a federal district judge in newark and come to a law firm in washington the following year. derek had recommended me to this federal judge. i was particularly interested in practicing labor law, and this federal judge had been roosevelt s labor counsel and it was well-known. his name is minden laurel, two to my disquiet and my wife s disquiet, two weeks before i was to arrive as a clark clerk he died which left me with a wife, two children, and no job for a year because my arrangement with the washington firm was the following year. they had no opening immediately. derek found me in the library, i believe, at the business school where i was writing a paper, and asked whether i d be willing to go to hawaii. the only other alternative at the time, which sort of interes
