The head baseball coach at Olathe North High School in Olathe, Kansas has been fired after using the n-word toward a Black player.
Pete Flood was fired from his teaching position and all other employment in Olathe Public Schools USD 233 after being previously suspended. District officials on Friday recommended to its board of education that Flood be terminated, and on Monday, the board voted unanimously to do so.

Kansas High School Coach Fired After Allegedly Using Racial Slur Against Black Student

A Kansas high school baseball coach was fired Monday morning after a student s father said he used a racial slur against his son, who is Black, during a pregame batting practice before facing off against another team Thursday evening.
Olathe High School North baseball coach Pete Flood, who also taught at the school, was fired after a unanimous vote by the Olathe Public Schools Board of Education after Flood s remarks toward Tony Banks son Nyle, who Banks said on Facebook is the only student of color on the team.

Olathe North High School officials placed head baseball coach Pete Flood on administrative leave Friday and recommended he be fired after a Black player’s father said the coach used a racial slur when talking to the teen.
The father says the incident happened Thursday before a game.
In a Facebook post, he wrote that his son, the team’s only Black player, set up speakers to play rap music while warming up. Flood walked over, the father wrote, and said, “we don’t play that (racial slur) music over here. We only play country and rock music.”
