Members of the Royal British Legion s Oxfordshire County committee attended the commemoration of the 100th anniversary of the charity. A dedication was given by the Reverend Rachel Carnegie of Dorchester Abbey in South Oxfordshire and Dorchester branch chair, Chris Hill, led the commemoration with Andy Pay as standard bearer. A wreath was laid by Charlotte Bennett, the branch secretary. County committee members Pete Eldridge, county chair, Fiona Lovesey, county vice-chair and Rob Lovesey, county recruitment, attended the centenary event. Although 2021 is the 100th anniversary, many branches throughout the UK are struggling to stay open as Royal British Membership is falling due to the age demographic of many of its members. Branches across the country are looking for anyone to become members and they also welcome people who do not have a military background.
