PETALING JAYA: A beautician was arrested for alleged drink-driving after crashing into a roadblock near the Damansara Toll Plaza.
Petaling Jaya OCPD Asst Comm Nik Ezanee Mohd Faisal said the incident occurred at around 1.05am on Tuesday (March 9). Our personnel were manning the roadblock when a car crashed into the cones, blinker lights and roadblock signage. The driver was a 32-year-old woman who works as a beautician in Puchong, he said in a statement on Tuesday.
He added that the woman was taken to Petaling Jaya police headquarters by Traffic Investigation and Enforcement Department personnel. She was taken for a breath examination as she was suspected to be driving under the influence of alcohol, he said, adding that the Evidential Breath Analyser machine showed her blood alcohol level was above the permitted limit.

pic) said both suspects would be remanded until Jan 16 to facilitate further investigations.
At the Petaling Jaya Court Complex, members of the media had camped there since Friday (Jan 15) morning to follow up on the remand.
Lawyer Datuk Suraj Singh, who was representing both suspects, said the case was being investigated under Section 323 and Section 506 of the Penal Code for voluntarily causing hurt and criminal intimidation. I can only confirm that I am representing both men and they will be remanded until tomorrow, he said when met at the Court Complex on Friday.

Petaling Jaya OCPD Asst Comm Nik Ezanee Mohd Faisal said eight teams here are in operation to monitor compliance to standard operating procedures during the MCO implemented from Jan 13-26.
He said eight teams would focus on crime prevention patrol at the same time. We currently have four roadblocks and five road closures enforced in Petaling Jaya and are planning to add another five roadblocks as well as two more road closures.
